Mmmmmm, Pi……

And another rabbit hole presented itself to me last night, in the form of the Raspberry Pi!

They have recently released a new flavor, the Pi Zero W. It has wifi integrated directly on the board! The local Microcenter had them in stock so I picked one up. It works wonderfully!

So I decided to see if I could use OSMC to create a wireless media server. Alas, this was not to be… Support for the Pi Zero W will not make it into OSMC until March 12th.  (see post by sam nazarko on Mar 06, 2017-9:07pm)

As this was unavailable, I located an unused Pi 2 B+ and installed OSMC on it. That went smoothly until it came time to connect to my mac.

Update: I am cutting this post short… It has been 2 additional days, the original portion of the post did not get published on time, I have made very little progress, and this was supposed to be a simple project. I have wasted too much time messing around with this, and have been distracted from my actual learning.

I still love the Pi, not so thrilled with the garnish of OSMC known as smb…
